Our Handyperson Service carries out minor repairs, improvements or adaptations to enable older people to maintain their independence and live in a warm, weather tight, safe and secure home. We also now provide a gardening service.
Services the Handyperson Service provide include:
- Changing light bulbs (Free service)
- Fitting/testing smoke detectors (Free service)
- Gardening ( £40 per hour, or £5 per hour if you receive means-tested benefits)
- Taking down/putting up curtains
- Help with TV sets
- Installing hand rails etc
- Assembling flat pack furniture
- Taking out old furniture
- Installing letter boxes, spy holes etc
- Window cleaning
- Minor plumbing jobs
Services the Handyperson Service DOES NOT provide include:
- Mounting TV sets above 32"
- Combi Boilers
- Painting and Decorating
The service performs a key strategic role in enabling older people to remain in their own home and preventing them from having to access more expensive and dependent forms of residential accommodation.
Lock it and Stop it
We have established a successful partnership with Lambeth’s Community Safety Team to provide a free lock fitting and burglary prevention service which has proved to be very popular.
