The Bereavement Support Service recognise that in addition to coping with bereavement, you are also faced with making many arrangements and notifying a large number of organisations. This can be confusing and distressing as you will often have to notify different organisations with the same information.
In most cases we can offer a full notification service regardless of where the deceased lived. We will take the necessary information from you in order to be able to act on your behalf.
This service is free and confidential and they will only notify the organisations and departments that you give them permission to.
How they can help:
The Bereavement Support Service can assist you in a number of ways:
-they can notify Local Authorities and Central Government departments about the death on your behalf.
-provide you with information and advice about a range of services, who else you need to inform, probate, counseling and other support services
-assist you in accessing additional benefits and monies to which you may be entitled.
Tell Us Once
The Bereavement Support Service also includes a service called Tell Us Once which lets you report a death to most government organisations in one go. The Registrar will tell you about using Tell Us Once and give you a unique reference number to access the service online or by telephone. For further information please click here.
