Blackfriars Settlement Mental Health and Well-being Service creates opportunities for those who are experiencing, or have experienced, problems with their mental health. 

They promote well-being through person-centred personal development. Whether you are looking for a training and development pathway or prefer a less structured environment including peer support, there will be something there to help you develop skills and confidence. Thriving art sessions come as standard!

Classes include:

- Woodwork

- IT classes

- Chinese Painting

- Rise and shine breakfast club

- Art Group

- Reading group

- Knitting and sewing

- Confidence, Well-being & Action Planning

- Vocational pathways to work, volunteering, education and training opportunities.

RISE (Recovery Independence Social Inclusion Empowerment)

This is a free program of groups,confidence-building sessions, and activities designed by you for you.RISE is over two days and will help you to support each other to build solid bridges over those things that you feel stop you from achieving your personal goals.


Every Tuesday MHWBS offers free IT sessions with UK Online and Information Advice and Guidance . The day is designed to help you identify and utilise the ways and means of achieving independence.Tuesday is free-to-access for all Southwark residents living with a mental health problem. The day begins at 10am and ends at 4pm.
