The Bladder and Bowel Foundation (B&BF) is the UK wide charity for people with bladder and bowel control problems. B&BF provides information and support services, including a confidential helpline, for anyone affected by these conditions as well as their families, carers and healthcare professionals.
B&BF was officially formed in June 2008 and incorporates the objectives and missions of Incontact (National Action on Incontinence formed in 1989) and the Continence Foundation, which closed in May 2008.
With an estimated 14 million people in the UK with a bladder control problem and 6.5 million with a bowel control problem that is bothersome, our work is vital if we are to change the way in which patients are helped and supported.
Our Vision and Aims
The charity's mission is to inspire change and create opportunities to enable people with bladder and bowel control problems to have a voice and equal choice.
We aim to:-
raise awareness of bladder and bowel control problems amongst the general public and healthcare professionals.
give access to information and support regarding the treatments, products and services for people with these conditions.
Ultimately we will work towards making a real difference to the lives of those affected by bladder and bowel control problems and deliver the kind of services that will meet the needs of those people affected by these issues
The charity believes in listening to the needs of people affected by bladder and bowel problems and provides advice and support to patients by means of the helpline, supported by specialist continence nurses and continence physiotherapists.
