Brixton Library provides books and more available for loan, a reference and information service, free use of Wi-Fi and computers for internet, email and word-processing.

Facilities include:

- A range of books in Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali and Spanish

-Books for Sale- lending books now on sale 50p or 3 for £1 and Reference books starting from £2

- Talking Books

-Reference Library- Encyclopedias, directories, maps, newspapers and magazines, government publications and books for study

-Reference and information service

- Large print, spoken word books, E- books and  books on prescription are available.

-Information leaflets

-Free Wi-Fi

-DVDs available to borrow

Events

Lambeth Libraries host a wide variety of groups, meet-ups, classes and workshops run by and on behalf of the Lambeth community. Click here to view the events calendar.

 

Regular groups (all free)

Mondays

7pm - 8pm English conversation for all (term time only)

Tuesdays

1pm - 2pm English conversation for all (term time only)

2pm - 4pm A group led by the Reader Organisation. You don't have to read anything in advance as everything is read aloud each week. Simply drop in, sit down and enjoy listening to a good story or poem; there's no pressure to talk, to read, or even to drink tea!

7pm - 8:30pm On the first Tuesday of the month there is also Brixton Library Reading Group.

Thursdays

7pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month "Chick-lit reading group"

Membership
It is free to join Lambeth Libraries, and when you join you become a member of all of them!

As a library member you can borrow up to a maximum of 15 items or books, including up to 6 audio-visual items (CDs, DVDs, talking books and language courses). Use of the library is free but some of our items are charged for, for example CDs and DVDs.

Disabled access:
Ramp on the side entrance (on Rushcroft Road) and the library has a lift and disabled toilet.

The library is free to join. Use of the library is free but some of our items are charged for, for example CDs and DVDs.
