Charleston House Extra Care Scheme

Charleston House Extra Care Scheme logo

Charleston House was built in 1999 and has 28 flats which are split between 2 separate buildings. The main building contains a dining room where a hot lunch is available 5 days per week; residents TV lounge with tea and coffee making facilities, laundry and staff offices. There is a lift to all floors and 17 flats in the main building. A further 11 flats are located in a separate building at 1 Wakeford Close. This building has a lift but no communal facilities - tenants use those in the min building.

There is a 24 hour care and support team provided by Allied Health Care which services both buildings. An internal call alarm system (pull cords and pendants) ensures all tenants can contact the care team in the case of an emergency. There are a range of activities organised every week including trips out, coffee mornings, quizzes and Bingo.

The core service provider is Allied Health Care, and the landlord is Metropolitan Housing Trust.
