Creation Trust is dedicated to making sure that residents living in the Borough and especially the Aylesbury estate receive the benefits of the regeneration of the area.
These benefits are not just new homes, schools, community facilities and a much improved park and open spaces, but the social and economic benefits of regeneration, such as employment, education and training, improvements in health and well being, and a reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour.
We have an employment programme that helps people over come their barriers to work, these could be confidence issues, interview nerves, low level mental health problems, gaps in CV's and not having the correct certifications. Our team at SE17working can help. We run short projects, host CV marathons and regular job shop session.
Creation's Resident Support Programme offers in-depth one to one support to the most vulnerable residents on the estate. Vulnerable can mean anything from very elderly, people with disabilities, mental health issues, people with complex family arrangements; sometimes it is the regeneration process itself that makes people vulnerable. We have one full time worker, Dambile Nkunika and a parttime caseworker Natasha Beattie.
If you have an issue you would like to discuss contact 0207 703 8923.
We run events for local over 50s on the estate including meet-ups and computer classes. we have also helped Walworth Academy to organise 2 tea dances for residents. Every year we also deliver a Christmas hamper to some of the most elderly and isolated residents on the estate.
The Citizen Advice Bureau delivers an estate based advice session, every Tuesday 10am - 12pm, no need for an appointment, just drop in.
We run a summer programme for young people and have our own Sports worker who delivers free Football and basketball sessions weekly for young people. Look out also for our pop-up skate park on Thurlow St every Saturday from 10.30am
