The Brenchley Gardens Estate is a Southwark Council housing estate built in 1962. Since 1999 it has been managed on behalf of the council by a committee of residents from the estate.
Brenchley Gardens Management Association is a tenant management organisation. This company is owned and run by residents living on the Brenchley garden estate. The main purpose of the company is to provide housing services on behalf of Southwark Council for the residents that live on the Brenchley Gardens estate.
The Association is a democratically-controlled membership organisation. All residents can join the Association without charge. Members have the right to vote at general meetings and elect the committee which consists entirely of estate residents. The committee meets on a monthly basis to carry out the business of running the company.
The Association has sub-committees specialising in certain areas of work, which are:
- Finance Sub-committee
- Repairs Sub-committee
- Staffing and Performance Sub-committee
- Allocations sub-committee.
All residents are welcome to get involved in the Association.The Association sets the strategy, policies and priorities for the management of the estate and the staff therefore work within those guidelines. The Association aims to ensure that all residents, regardless of tenure, receive an excellent housing service.
