Crossroads Care South Thames

Crossroads Care South Thames logo

A large focus of our work is the provision of our home-based respite care for the carers of older people, adults and children with physical or learning disabilities. This service operates across all the boroughs we work in. All our care services comply with the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety as assessed by the Care Quality Comission (CQC). In 2011-12 we provided almost 70,000 hours of home-based short breaks for carers with an average of 3.5 hours per visit from our Care Support Workers. Most of the access to our services has come through the contracts we hold within the boroughs that we operate in, although, we also receive private requests for direct care from individuals accessing services by themselves.

We have offices in Mitcham (Borough of Merton) Croydon (Borough of Croydon) and Streatham (Borough of Lambeth). From these centres we run a number of diverse services for carers, including advocacy, employment support, a young carers service, counselling, information and advice, signposting, support for mental health carers and Saturday clubs for young people with learning disabilities.

We run an active volunteer programme with roles in projects across the organisation. All volunteers receive a full induction programme, support and supervision, and ongoing training where appropriate.
Crossroads Care South Thames is accredited by Investing In Volunteering.
